Roof Repair Before & After Photos

This chimney didn't have any flashing before, which caused water to get in and cause water damage inside. The homeowners tried to fix it and installed a piece of waterproofing material around it to temporarily stop water. On the before picture, you can see a new cricket our Klaus Roofing Systems crew installed to redirect water from accumulating on the foot of the chimney, and rather have it flow down around it. They also added a new flashing and properly sealed all gaps. 

On the before picture you can see how the chimney doesn't have any flashing, and leaves and twigs accumulate on the foot of this chimney. We also found cracks around it which were allowing water to get inside of the house. This chimney needed to get a new flashing and have a cricket built to redirect water and debris from accumulating on the chimney foot.

On the second photograph, you can see how we were installing a new cricket. We had to replace some of the decking because it was too rotten due to water damage. We installed waterproofing barriers around the chimney and then new flashing and replaced some of the shingles.

A section of shingles on this ridge vent was damaged. We replaced it with new asphalt shingles on top of the ridge vent and on both side to prolong its longevity. Ridge vents are important for maintaining a good attic ventilation.
