Roof Repair Photo Album: New Flashing and Leak Repairs in Murfreesboro, TN

This house in Murfreesboro, TN had leaks around old roof vent and on the wall where the vinyl siding met the roof. The roof also had an old satellite dish that wasn't used anymore, so we removed it and installed new shingles in the area. We re-flashed the area where vinyl siding meets the roof line and repaired active leak around roof vent. At the end, we hammered back all nails that were sticking out on the fascia.

Old Leaky Vents

Some vents developed leaks at cracked sealant. This roof also had an old satellite dish that we removed and replaced it with new layer of shingles, of course we didn't forget to waterproof it!

All seams on decking are taped with a waterproofing tape.

Before we install a new flashing, a layer of waterproofing SealoronXT was applied underneath the flashing and shingles.

SealoronXT is made of a heavy-duty, tear-resistant material that won't allow water through.

Roof Inspection

Our roof specialist inspect the roof from outside, the attic and perform a brittle test to find out how much life this roof has left in it.

Brittle Test

Brittle test is performed on one or several random shingles. The shingle is bent - if it cracks, it means the roof is too old and won't withstand weather, hail and wind much longer and should be replaced ASAP.

PermaBoot Installation

Old leaky vent was replaced, properly sealed, and the area around covered with a waterproofing layer before we installed new shingles. PermaBoot is not applied on top to protect the vent from water and weather elements.
